More Fabric Play

I worked on a couple of pieces over the weekend.
The first one I worked on for most of
last week but finished it up over the weekend.

It's a fabric piece with clips at the bottom and
made for my mom. She wants to hang her
calendar from the clips. Took me a little
while to figure out how to make that happen
but I think these clips will do the trick :)


I hope she likes it. It's actually nothing like
what we discussed for her space. She just redid
her laundry room and it has a lot of reds.
Um, Mom, I could get inspired by red. :)
But I think this is neutral enough to still coordinate
with the space. She has a piece of art from
everyone in our family in her new laundry room.
An old oil painting my dad did years and years ago.
A pencil sketch by my brother. The men in our
 family are much more traditaional artsits.
Then there's me and mom - we are a little more creative,
and a lot less exact. Mom's piece was made recently
although she started it months ago. Inspiration finally hit
and she finished it for the laundry room. So then, she was
left with an empty space in the family gallery, er, laundry
room and hopefully she'll like this piece to fill it!
Then I made this other piece just because I've been
thinking about this scripture (Phil. 4:12) and the poem
by Mya Angelou

So this is my expression of the
 combination of those two thoughts.

 That is my paraphrased version of this scripture.
The full scripture reads:

12I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is
 to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content
 in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry,
whether living in plenty or in want.
Phillipians 4:12 (NIV)

You're a crazy girl! These are both super cute and I'm kind of amazed at how you're going to town with the whole fabric thing. YAY!!
