The Love Chapter Project!

About 6 weeks ago a client, Leslie, and her interior designer, Sylvia Fiore of ACF Design in Cincinnati, came to me with an idea. They wanted to do text, specifically the Love Chapter, on a huge wall in the living room of Leslie's home. Sylvia had this awesome inspiration photo from a place she had seen in Europe. It was actually a bathroom and all the walls, stalls, everything was covered in text. So when I met with them at the site of the new home we all talked and decided we would flood the 14 by 20 foot wall with 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 from top to bottom, side to side.
We were EXCITED!

For a month I went back and forth with Leslie and Sylvia to get just the right combination of the amount of text to use, font, spacing and letter size. After about 3 tries we got it right!

Leslie and her husband have spent the last 2 years building this new home. It's spectacular and I am so excited to have a part in it. The wall is in the main living room that is open to the entryway. The whole house has an open-concept floor plan. It's very modern and sculptural as you can see in a couple of the photos below. It was quite a treat to work on this large scale. I loved it! I also loved that the text is from The Love Chapter. Some of my all-time-favorite text!
Here are a few photos from our 2 day installation.

Our 14x20' blank canvas

Getting started...

The text reads:
4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 NIV
The final piece...yep, that's us 20 feet up!
Here's what you can do with
1638 characters,
40, 320 square inches of wall space,
17 hours of installation
1 really cool idea!

A view from the 2nd floor.
