Digging out...

Hey everyone - I am still drowning in email and custom requests from the weekend. If you are still waiting please feel free to send me a *friendly* reminder to let me know you are still interested. :)

I hate to post without a leaving a little eye candy for you but have nothing new to share I thought I'd pull out an image from my Creative File. I LOVE this file and add to it often.

These lamps are made by Dez Ryan - they are amazing! I would love to offer lamps like this in my store someday - only my own creations. I'd also like to keep the price a bit more affordable. These are quite pricey but they are fantastic! I love the colors, and patterns and shapes and GLASS! I love glass art! You can check out more of her creations in the lighting section at DezRyanStudio.com. If any of you were Trading Spaces fans you may remember her from the show. She wasn't on a lot but I certainly remember her appearances. She was a fave for me and she always made a really cool funky lamp! It was like leaving her signature in the room. She also had a lamp that was part of the set of Friends. Anyway, check these out - I just love them - hope you do too!

A customer photo...

I need a little time to pull the photos together from the weekend so for now I'll share one I received from a customer last night! I LOVE THIS!! She wanted a more casual font for her family monogram so we worked up a custom order. I LOVE the white and chocolate! Love it. I now need a chocolate wall in my house. I am doing all fallish colors anyway - rust, olive, a cinnamon reddish color so chocolate will fit right in ;)

Very Fun Announcement!!

For the last couple of months Billy and I have been working on opening a new store with Flexa!! They have incredible children's furniture! This is so exciting for us. We did a bunch of signage for their newly opened store in Las Vegas, but what was really fun was creating 2 new decal sets for them!!

First is our Brick Wall - all rough and uneven like real brick. Check out that Castle bed! So fun! Flexa is all about children being creative (as the are naturally) and living in a creative space everyday! Love that concept :)
Then we did this AWESOME (if I say so myself) Race Track with Cars decal set!! This is actually designed by Billy - he rocked the race cars! It all comes in pieces so you can totally customize your racetrack! Check it out in our Etsy shop. Flexa used 2 decals sets for an extra long track!

Here are a few more photos of their store - the signage is from us! You can see us in their next store opening in Miami, FL mid-December!

All photos courtesy of Flexa. Because Children Grow.

I love getting photos! I love the red chair in this one - too cute with the red birdies!!
I would love to receive photos from more of you! They are so fun to see and post for everyone else to see.
Tomorrow I will have a special offer that is ONLY happening through the blog and is in very limited supply. Come back and see what it is!
Enjoy your night,

My Weekend Project~

Now that we have been in the house a few weeks I think it should probably look like we actually live here! So this weekend I finally have curtains in every room except our Master Bedroom. Big accomplishment :) And then I hung a clock I had been waiting to put up - my own creation! About a year ago I bought these 5" stainless steel house numbers to use for clock numbers and I have got around to the project. Then a few weeks ago while in a local craft store I found 23" battery operated clock hands! Last night (ok, 1:00 am) we assembled the clock on the wall and it was cool but blended into the builder's beige wall - yawn!

So, first thing this morning I went to Lowe's and bought a gallon of paint! It's called Rustica by Waverly - it's a slightly darker version of our sienna vinyl color. So cool! I painted the big wall in the kitchen this Rustica color, reassembled the clock and WOW! I love it! I'm so pleased with how this little corner of the house looks! (lots more to go...)

Have a great night,

What a morning! :)

Ok, so I am a very organic worker - meaning I don't do strict schedules and very structured days. I think most creative people are like this. So when inspiration hits - you go with it.

Last night it started with the safari animals, next with the coffee cups - now I have dino's and birds stacked tall and proud and I have given them all a special logo!

I am very proud to introduce to you...THE ONE AND ONLY (drum roll please!)

How cute is this?!

I love all things coffee - except the taste! LOL I especially love a cute mug! I drink french vanilla cappuccino and I make my own homemade hot cocoa (YUM!). I'll have to share the recipe someday - it includes marshmallows - so you know it's good ;) But back to the mugs - last night I made the animal stack and loved it - so this morning there was just a touch of chill in the air making me want a warm mug of hot cocoa (which I don't have all the ingredients for-pout) and ended up designing this cute stack of mugs instead. Aw, sweet inspiration is coming back!

I think I want to stack some more things!! I am taking requests. Drop me an email (singlestonestudios@yahoo.com) or leave me a message right here on the blog. If I choose your suggestion - there will be a prize!! I'll give you the decal you inspired in the color of your choice! So fun! I am loving this :) Send me your ideas! They can be totally wacky - like roosters on a beach ball or cats on a skateboard - no animals will be harmed in the making of these decals :)

Edited To Add: I will be taking ideas through the weekend. I will choose one on Monday and announce the winner! I can't wait to see what you guys come up with!!

So without further delay - I give you my Coffee Cup Stack

You can now find these 3 new images in our Etsy Shop!

Published again!

Check us out in Trendhunter Magazine! So cool! They said such nice things...

Designer Shelley Howard of Cincinnati, Ohio runs Single Stone Studios which specializes in high-quality vinyl wall graphics. Wall decals are one of the hottest trends in decorating. The financial investment is relatively low and there is little commitment, and the effect is fantastic.

The dandelion blowing across is stunning on the black wall, and the bird cages are so cute, especially grouped together as they are shown. Single Stone Studios also does custom work on ongoing basis, so you could have something done to suit your own personal style. They can also be used outdoors and should last up to 5 years.

New Perspective...

Well, I have been quite disappointed by being dropped from the show - I am told I'll remain in their Home Makeover file as they really liked working with me - we'll see. I do know that Oprah is in no way in control of the success of my business. God is in control. He always has been. He always will be and my faith and success lies in Him.

Single Stone comes from the David and Goliath story. Billy and I are all about facing your giant and having the faith to throw the stone to slay it. When we started this business we were in a pretty rough place. We have lost so many jobs and been financially empty but we stepped out one more time - Single Stone. God has only begun to show us what He can do! If you want to see miraculous things - keep coming to the blog - you'll see them. If you want to experience it for yourself - talk to God - He has plenty to go around!

Enjoy your day!

Sad News

Oprah's producer called and they cut the segment I was going to be in. Not much else to say...

Edited to add....so maybe this makes me feel a teeny bit better, not really but, the whole show changed and now Celine Dion will be there on Friday - Do you REALLY think she will draw more ratings? I think not! LOL

Single Stone Studios on OPRAH!!!

Oh my GOSH! This is the most exciting news! I have been working with a producer from the Oprah show since last Thursday and just got confirmation of their order for a show airing THIS FRIDAY!!! Wow!! You HAVE to tune in and see our decals ON THE OPRAH SHOW!!!!

Believe in your dreams!

Terrible Wind!

It was quite an eventful weekend! At least on Sunday - we had a terrible wind storm that came off of Ike. Winds up to 80 MPH ripping trees out of the ground and damaging homes. We had a little damage to our rental property but really not even worth mentioning. (thank goodness) My parents had a huge tree fall - on my dads truck. It's drivable but needs a new bed. No one was hurt, no damage to their house.

Our electricity was out for about 16 hours so email is behind. We will be getting through all of them today. Things are a little crazy here with orders etc! It will be a full day! :)

Hope everyone is doing well - Have a great day!

New Listings...

I just put a bunch of new listings in the Etsy shop! Go check them out!

Good Morning!

It's Friday - which makes it sound like things will slow down but we all know the weekends are spent running and catching up from the things that did not happen during the week. At least mine are! Sports, extra housework, family events. This weekend I will be spending a little extra time in the studio catching up. Seems like since the kids went back to school you're all shopping! LOL I'm not holding it against you :)
I am out the door in a few to run some errands. I had a new coffee table delivered yesterday so I am hoping to find some time to put my feet up on it over the weekend and break it in ;) Snuggled up next to Billy (husband, production guy at Single Stone, all around nice guy - pretty cute too! hehehe) Ok better get myself moving - I'm stalling on the errands...

Have a great weekend everyone!

Here is another funny cat photo from icanhascheezburger. I'm telling you this site cracks me up!

Etsy Plug!

Hey everyone - I'm feeling better today. I slept - get this - ALL NIGHT! WOOHOO! I made Billy quit working and we slept like 6 hours straight. I think my mojo is back! :) LOL

So today I am going to plug another Etsy store. I LOVE these and I think you will too. This designer, Jen, is new to Etsy and show her some love and checkout her store. You will not be disappointed! I personally LOVE the wire with the fabric. She told me sometimes she uses beads too! WOW! I want to see that. Now I give you Bird From A Wire...

Lost My Mojo!

Do you have it? I need it back!! I don't know what it looks like or what size it is - I just know when I have it and when I don't. Right now - I don't have it. I am off to blog hop on some of my faves to see if I left it there. I have proofs to get out but without any mojo they just don't look like I want them too. :(

Have a great day everyone!

This is a swatch from Amy Butler's Midwest Modern fabric line. She too, is a designer in Ohio. Think she ever loses her mojo? If so, you certainly cannot tell. I just love her style!

Crazy Busy...

I am sure most of you can relate! Seems like there is always so much to accomplish. I actually took the weekend off. This is not normal. Usually I work all day everyday - except Sunday - I only check up on email on Sunday evening. It felt SO GREAT to take a break this weekend. So I spent the weekend on a few household projects - like unpacking our closet. We've been in the house for 4 weeks now and have been wearing the same few things we had in a laundry basket when we moved. LOL So I can say that EVERY piece of clothing has been gone through and kept, donated or trashed. The closet is organized and roomy. We had 2 smalls closets before and this one is a nice sized walk-in. Not huge but significantly more space than we had before. I like it a lot!

Decorating the bedroom has been moved to the back burner. We are now unsure of the green we painted the walls. It's a great color - we do like it - but it's bright. We work a lot. We work long days everyday and although we love bright colors and have them in the studio we want the house to feel very relaxed. So we are thinking about what we really want in to do in there.

Meanwhile, I have plenty of other things to keep me busy in the house. Both kids got new bedding and I am working on decals for each of them as well as other fun things in their rooms. I'll follow up with some photos once I get everything together but here is a sneak peek of some ideas I am working with. The barbed wire, wanted poster and snake are some ideas my son wants in his room - these will be decals and I'll be offering them in the store once the art is ready to be cut. The swirls are an idea for my daughter's room. These will probably be done chocolate and white as her wall will be a light teal. This is actually a current custom project I am working on - it will be in the store soon - it's a bit of a work-in-progress right now.

Enjoy your day everyone,

Blogged again :)

Check us out on soapcouture blog. And you can check out her Etsy shop full of handmade soaps! I love handmande soap - I used to make it and sell at local craft shows myself - it's SO much better than commercial soaps.

Seasonal Decals

Here is a design I have been working on as part of a new release of Fall images. I will be doing something special with these decals - the rest of the supplies will be arriving at the studio today! For now here is a sneak peek of an image....more details next week!

Have a great weekend everyone!
